Back in 2015 I started photographing what I call "Real Life" family sessions. Not your typical portrait session with everyone dressed up in cute little outfits... just the real, honest-to-goodness life moments that happen together as a family. These authentic moments between parent(s) and child(ren) are the images that speak so deeply to my soul, for the simplest reasons that they tell the real story of what's happening in your lives with kiddos, and not just the picture-perfect portrait days.
The Licata Family had me in their home a few weeks ago to photograph their family's morning together – making breakfast, kids playing with cars, puzzles, soccer balls, and trains, some reading of books, and my favorite – "airmail" (or pillow fights) with the oldest. These are the fleeting moments in their lives that will likely be different next year and different yet again the year after that. And I'm so honored to provide their family with these documented, real life memories.
